about Aytahn Ross

Aytahn Ross has been seen live by over 1 million people in 13 countries around the world.  He’s had repeat invitations to Just for Laughs, performed solo for the Governor General, sold out shows at the National Arts Centre of Canada and once John Cleese from Monty Python said “Hello” to him.

Ross specializes in the manipulation arts e.g. juggling and balancing, but also mixes in physical comedy, contemporary clowning, and a little magic from time to time. His work is a fusion of circus and vaudeville.

He can be described as a comic gentleman who is known for his elegant silliness, irreverant humour, and quirky circus skills.

Ross is university educated and bilingual, speaking both English and French fluently.

In his youth, Ross studied dramatic theatre at Actor’s Showcase (now Manitoba Theatre for Young People) and the Manitoba Theatre Centre in Winnipeg. He started volunteering at arts festivals but it wasn’t long before he started getting hired as a juggler.

In 1991 Ross won the Canadian Juggling Championship and started performing at larger professional events.

In 1994 he returned to Montreal, his place of birth, and immersed himself in the international circus community while attending university. After finishing his university degree in 1998, Ross committed to his work in the performing arts and began touring internationally. Now, 25 years later he’s still working as a full-time professional in the arts.

Ross has performed at the biggest and best events in the country as well as many hundreds of small community oriented events and everything in between.

In addition to his performances, Ross has Produced and Directed two theatre series that ran for 10 years. Circo Hiverno was a hit show in Montreal while Evening of Circus was featured at the National Arts Centre of Canada in Ottawa. He has also worked behind the scenes sitting as an Executive on various boards helping guide larger organizations towards success. Currently, Ross is the Outdoor Artist Manager for the largest theatre festival in North America - the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival. In 2021 Ross returned to university for an Education Degree.

Now based in Edmonton Ross continues to present entertaining and educational performances across Canada. He is currently touring the Great Balanzo show and the Professor Wow show bringing them to theatres, festivals, schools, and all kinds of special events.
